Vocabulary and Pronounciation Guide

The project provides multimedia materials in fifteen units for each of the project languages: Amharic, Igbo, Swahili, Shona, Twi, Wolof, Yoruba, and Zulu. Each unit provides a set of vocabulary items that could be useful in a particular situation stated as a title of the unit. The spelling, pronunciation, and pictures are provided to enhance the learning process. The materials can be used for preparatory purposes, prior to presenting communicative lessons around any of the situations for each unit. They can also be useful for pre-reading, pre-writing, pre-speaking, and pre-listening activities.
The materials can be used at elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. They can be incorporated into a semester's syllabus, one unit per week.
