Within this category so-called multi-purpose
wild-food plants are represented. Fruits plus one or more additional food
products such as leaves and tender parts of stalks and/or root parts can
be used at different times of the year and at different stages of food
shortage. At present only three species have been identified that fit into
this multipurpose 'wild-food' plant category.
