DEVEL-L on LISTSERV@AMERICAN.EDU (if using Internet) or LISTSERV@AUVM (if using Bitnet)
An established public discussion list for all persons interested in technology transfer in international development. The list is sponsored by Volunteers in Technical Assistance (VITA), a private, nonprofit, voluntary organization for humanitarian assistance established in 1959. Subscribers discuss their shared interests in the list's subject, which can include travel reports, conference reports, questions, opinions, and so on, primarily related to the List's focus: Technology Transfer in International Development. This topic includes but is not restricted to renewable energy, food production, storage, and processing, health, distance education, water supply, irrigation and sanitation, small- enterprise development, credit programs and marketing, information management, disaster assistance, and rural communications systems. Argument is welcome; off-topic postings and political activism are not welcome; "flaming" is not allowed. The List is unmoderated.
Suscribers automatically receive VITA's monthly on-line newsletter, DevelopNet News, and have free access to on-line archives of development-related papers. They are invited to contribute to these archives.
