Round house with matting walls. "In places where suitable mud,
of a clayey consistency, is not easily obtainable, the walls are made
of coarse matting. The splints are taken from the midribs of palm
leaves." Bonge, Sitia Chiefdom.
"The verandah continues the rounded outline of the house. The
wall behind it is flat." Movande, near Yoni, Sitia Chiefdom.
"The Paramount Chief's compound at Yoni contains both round and
rectangular houses. An important man will have several houses in a
group--one for himself and one for each of his wives. In this case,
the separate dwellings house relatives and dependents of the Chief.
Sitia Chiefdom."
