A breakdown by old administrative regions and awrajas is given; for each year where possible the total population, number and percentage of beneficiaries are given. For ease of use this file explodes to form a WK1 and FMT file (Lotus 123 spreadsheet format) and a TXT (tab delinited text) file. A table giving adjusted population estimates, based on the Central Statistics Authority (CSA) 1994 national population census. At the national level and for each region population figures are given for the number of under 1's, under 5's, 1 -4 years, women of child bearing age and birth rates. These numbers have been extrapolated to give values for 1984 (to compare aginst the previous census), 1994, 1995, 1996 & 1997. The raw 1994 census population pyramid was adjusted using an Arriaga technique to reflect a population pyramid expected for developing countries and further adjusted to allow for census undercount. Total populations for the Afar and Somali regions of 800,000 and 2,600,000 respectively were used as the 1994 census did not cover these regions. The data in this table was compiled by a population expert with broad experience in this field, however the values are NOT authorised as official estimates by the CSA. FN=POP_ADJ , FS=19K
