Africa is not immune from the global war on terrorism, nor on the  political ramifications that surround this war, both domestically and  globally. There are different reactions from different African  countries, both governments and citizens, with regard to this war. This  variation can be gleaned not only from the official positions of some  governments, but from the street reactions as well. This situation of  multiple voices, multiple reactions to the global war against terrorism  is similar to the varied official positions in the fight against AIDS,  pursuit of democracy, economic and political transparency.  The aim of  this half-day workshop is to explore and to analyze the different ways  African countries have responded to the current war "global" terrorism,  in all showing the multiplicity of voices and positions.
