Vision in Action is an international non-profit organization founded in 1988 out of the conviction that there is much that we can learn from, and contribute to, the developing world by working as part of a community of volunteers committed to achieving social justice in an urban setting.
Visions coordinates volunteer internships with non-profit organizations operating in urban or rural areas of developing countries. Interns pay travel and living costs, plus a program fee. In return, Visions in Actions coordinates a volunteer position in the field best suited to each intern, conducts a month long orientation, arranges housing and provides overseas support. Total estimated cost for our one year programs is $5,000-$6,000. Visions operates programs in Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Burkina Faso.
