Throw your adventure hat and some old clothes into a suitcase and join us in Africa this summer to build a medical clinic and practice medicine and dentistry in the Maasai Plains of Tanzania! Working with the relief organization ADRA, we will join hands with the local villagers to replace their old clinic space with a new 1,200 square foot building during the month of August 1995. Currently there is a very busy clinic practice being conducted from two rooms in the home of the local physician, Dr. Gilbert John. Dr. John and his two nurse assistants see 10,000 patient visits a year in this 15x18 foot space! They have no running water, no electricity, no storage space, and Dr. John's desk shares space in a room with two beds. The room is so small that the door does not open completely because it is blocked by the foot of one of the beds. The local people are very excited to work with us in the construction of the new clinic and have already donated the land and begun making the cement blocks and foundation. While the clinic is going up our health care team will be conducting an urgent care medical and dental clinic.

Trip cost includes roundtrip airfare from designated departure cities, in-country transportation, food, lodging, and one day game park visit. Price does NOT include cost for passport, visas ($40.50 for US citizens, others may vary), Immunizations, Nairobi airport tax of $20.00US, or transportation to departure cities listed.
