The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), a regional network of independent newspapers and journalists committed to the development of a free and pluralistic press in Southern Africa, is making its newsletter FREE PRESS available on the Internet.

The newsletter, which covers Press freedom and media development news and issues throughout Southern Africa, is now available (there is no charge).

For those with direct access to the Internet, the newsletter can be obtained via anonymous FTP: Login: anonymous File is available as /pubs/FreePress/March94.Z

Note: The file is Unix compressed.

For those who have only e-mail access to the net, send a message to:

Your name will be added to a subscriber list and the newsletter will be e-mailed to you. Please be a little patient -- the response is not automatic.

When sending your e-mail message, specify whether you want a Unix or DOS compressed (PKZIP) version of the newsletter.

NB: The file is UUENCODED and compressed. You must have UUDECODE software.
