Funding

Program Cost

Participants will pay $6,000 to paritipcate in the program. The funds will cover all program costs except airfare adn travel expenses. Participants will be responsible for booking their own fair to and from South Africa.

The program cost does not coverr:

• Local and international travel expenses. (Participants are advised to seek funding support from their institutions, Academic Departments, Offices of International Programs, or African Studies Centers for local travel)
• Mandatory health insurance for the summer abroad in South Africa
• Passport and visa fees
• Inoculations and other health-care expenses related to travel
• Travel done on the student’s own time and initiative in Southern Africa
• Personal shopping and gifts (at least $500)
