IRIN ANNOUNCEMENT 19 Feb 1997
1. IRIN is seeking resumes of qualified people to fill a potential vacancy for an Information Officer/Humanitarian Affairs Officer with DHA/IRIN. The job would be based in Nairobi and candidates would be required to fulfil the following minimum criteria:
o at least two years relevant experience in the Great Lakes o at least five years experience in journalism; proven, fast, writing skills in English o at least intermediate ability in French o familiarity - preferably proficiency - in the use of computers for word processing and e-mail o willingness to travel in the region
2. IRIN is also seeking resumes of qualified people to fill a possible vacancy as Information Analyst with DHA/IRIN. The job would be based in Nairobi and candidates would be required to fulfil the following minimum criteria:
o At least 10 years experience, five of which in Africa - in one or more of the following fields: international affairs, political analysis, humanitarian affairs, human rights, conflict mediation, journalism, diplomacy. o Proven writing skills in English o at least intermediate ability in French o computer literacy o willingness to travel in the region
3. DHA is seeking resumes of qualified people to fill possible future vacancies for Information Officers/Humanitarian Affairs Officers as well as Field Officers in the great Lakes (including Zaire and Rwanda). Candidates would be required to fulfil the following minimum criteria:
o at least five years relevant experience, two of which in the Great Lakes, o proven writing skills in English o at least intermediate ability in French o familiarity with the use of computers for word processing and e-mail o willingness to travel within the region
