FELLOWSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT:
O'Bie Shultz Fellowships in International Studies Application Deadline: 22 January 1996
Purpose/Eligibility: Grants for Graduate Students to Assist with costs associated with advanced work in international studies. Awards support modest travel and research expenses during periods of dissertation field research conducted abroad, or for supplemental cost-of-living stipends and tuition for students in the final wrap-up phase of the dissertation. Funds are not available to support costs related to dependents. Field research grants can be used in any country.
The deadline for the special two-quarter African Studies FLAS competition for winter and spring
quarters of this year is NOV. 1. The African Studies FLAS (Foreign Lang. and Area Studies Fellowship)
is for any graduate student studying an African language (Languages offered at Stanford this year:
Swahili, Maninka, Wolof) or doing dissertation research that utilizes an African language. Application
forms are available from the Center for African Studies, Littlefield Center, Rm. 14, Stanford
University, Stanford, CA 94305-5013.
