SUMMER SEMINARS & INSTITUTES FOR
SCHOOL TEACHERS

Each summer the National Endowment for the Humanities supports study opportunities for school teachers to strengthen the teaching of the humanities.

Among the 20 seminars offered are studies of the industrial revolution, Communism in America, Native American literature, autobiographies of the Harlem Renaissance, as well as Latin American nationalism, and the the history of the Irish famine.In addition, eight institutes will be held at locations such as the Folger Shakespeare Library, Harvard's Graduate School of Education, the National Humanities Center, and the Renaissance Society of America.

Information and application forms for specific seminars and institutes are available from each project director. Completed applications are due March 1, 1998.
