Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Malaria Research and Control, 03/01

Opportunities have become available at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine following their award from the Gates Foundation. The closing dates are in March.

Applications are invited for a number of three year post-doctoral research fellowships in areas related to the control of malaria, as a component of a generous award from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Fellows will be based at LSHTM but may spend a substantial period of their fellowship in a malaria endemic area when this is necessary for their research. Fellowships may be held in any area of laboratory, clinical, entomological, epidemiological or social science relevant to the control of malaria. Candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant area of science. Prior experience of research in malaria is desirable but not essential.

Further information about the malaria programme at LSHTM may be seen on the Malaria Centre web page:
