WorldFish Center Africa Program

A member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), the WorldFish Center is an international scientific research organization conducting fisheries and aquaculture research in developing countries. The global headquarters of the Center is in Penang, Malaysia with operations Africa and West Asia managed from offices in Cairo, Egypt.

The Center is currently strengthening its program in Africa focusing upon improved management of capture fisheries and aquaculture, policy studies and capacity building. To assist with this work the Center is offering up to two spring internships for motivated candidates.

Location: Cairo, Egypt
Eligibility: Applicants should have an interest in conducting research in the field of rural development, public health, economics and/or environment. Language skills an advantage.

Compensation: The stipend for a 12 week stay is US$3,200. In addition, the students will receive free accommodation and assistance with local transport. Airfares to and from Cairo will be provided.
