SYNOPSIS:

 The program is designed to encourage research and writing in black history and culture, to facilitate
interaction among the participants, including fellows
funded by other sources, and to provide for widespread dissemination of findings through lectures,
publications, and the sponsor's seminars. Fellowships of $25,000 are available for six months and fellowships of up to $50,000 are available for twelve months.
