POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS, 2001-02
The Institute of African Studies at Columbia University invites applications for a one year post-doctoral fellowship for the academic year 2001-02 in the Program to Reconfigure the Interdisciplinary Study of Africa. The Program intends to encourage applicants who wish to build on the thematic focus of their Ph. D. dissertation to do further comparative work. Research statements that cross borders between major regions within Africa (East, West, North, South, Central) will be particularly welcome.
Fellowships are worth $35,000 plus benefits.
Applicants will be required to teach a seminar in a single semester undergraduate course on 'Major Debates in the Study of Africa.'
Applicants should submit:
- a 2-4 page outline of their proposed project; - a
writing sample;
- a c.v.
