Contrary to the report in the September Monitoring Times, R. Cotonou (ORT du Benin) is back on 4870 kHz, if it ever was off. Heard on 8/26/94 as strong het with audio at 2020 UTC, rising to fair audibility by 2100 UTC with local music. Booming in at 2230 UTC with pops in French and English (including an Elvis gospel tune). Has been ID'ing for some time now as "Radio Cotonou". 2300 UTC close with anthem, 2302 carrier cut.
