Internet In Tunisia

I read that there is project called RINAF (Regional Informatics Network for Africa). This project was conceived by the Intergovernmental Informatics Program (IIP) of UNESCO and financed by a grant of the Italian Government and by a contribution from the Republic of Korea; the project implementation phase was started in the second half of 1992 and is planned to last till the end of 1994.

The project is meant to bring basic Internet services (e-mail, bulletin boards, access to data bases, discussion lists, etc.) to several African countries. The plan is to establish five regional nodes and ten national nodes (a new national node for Tunisia). RINAF relies on the cooperation with other initiatives operating in the African continent like the IDRC-Canada project, the RIO network of ORSTOM-France and other existing network initiatives...

Meanwhile I know very well that Tunisia is connected to internet (see the list below -- update: Tuesday, 27 April 1993 by Rob Harper). However, I don't

know if the universities in Tunisia (i.e. ENIT, ENIM, ENIS, ...) are also connected to internet. It is very interesting for me because I would contact some professors and engineers in the several tunisian universities via email and listservers and so we could perhaps exchange some ideas about our works. I am also interested in conferences and/or workshops in a university or industry in my homeland.

So if you have any informations, I would be grateful. You can send this to the following email-address
