Africa First, LLC of Minnesota, USA, in association with and support of
the Ghana Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization, UNAIDS
Ghana Office, Ghana AIDS Commission and Esperanza Medicines Foundation,
is pleased to invite all the citizens of the world, especially, health
policy makers, indigenous peoples, health institutions, scientists,
orthodox medical practitioners, medical schools, medical associations,
traditional health practitioners, botanists, foundations, hospitals,
pharmaceutical and bio-technological companies, civil society
organizations, faith-based organizations, legal practitioners, law
schools, environmentalists, HIV-Caregivers, students, people living with
HIV/AIDS and other chronic diseases, to the 2nd Global Summit on
HIV/AIDS, Traditional Medicine & Indigenous Knowledge in Accra, Republic
of Ghana, from Monday, March 10, 2008 to Friday, March 14, 2008.
The specific objectives of the conference being among others, to
identify traditional medicines and practices used in the prevention and
management of HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, cancer, sickle cell,
anaemia, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, stroke and mental
disorders, for further evaluation of safety, efficacy and quality
standards, only presentations supported by facts and evidence will be
accepted.
This is a call for papers and registration. Registration for attendance
is open through August 31, 2007.
Abstracts and presentations must have three parts
(1) an introductory opening offering the scope of a scientific
investigation on a specific disease and the relevant natural therapy
identified for prevention and/or treatment;
(2) a body describing the models or approaches applied in the
investigation; and
(3) a conclusion which dwells on scientific facts and evidence
supporting the findings of the investigation, as well as citations and
references of authorities, wherever necessary.
Participants wishing to present are requested to submit abstracts via
email to mailto:info@africa-first.com not later than August 31, 2007. No
abstracts will be accepted after this date. Abstracts must be
typewritten in 1.5 line spacing with font of 12-point in size, and not
to exceed 500 words in English language.
