Call for Papers: SERSAS Spring Conference, 04/00

The Southeast Regional Seminar in African Studies is pleased to announce the call for papers for its Spring, 2000 conference, to be hosted high in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains on April 14th and 15th by Western Carolina University. Mark your calendars now!

The initial call for papers is open in terms of topics and methodologies. SERSAS welcomes formal papers as well as multi-media presentations and Work-In-Progress (WIP) presentations. Scholars at all career stages and from all regions are encouraged to submit abstracts (less than 500 words, please) to:

SERSAS@hotmail.com

Abstracts received before 1 February, 2000, will receive priority consideration. Drafts of papers will be needed for posting to the SERSAS web site by 1 April.

SERSAS takes great pride in providing time for in-depth discussion of papers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We encourage faculty to take advantage of our famed SERSAS collegiality by bringing advanced Undergraduates and new Graduate Students as a means of introducing them to the workings of an academic conference.
