UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA - AFRICAN STUDIES CENTER |
The South Eastern Regional Seminar on African Studies is pleased to announce the call for papers for its Fall, 2000 conference, to be hosted in conjunction with Africa Week at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville on October 27th and 28th. Mark your calendars now!
The initial call for papers is open in terms of topics and methodologies, though papers supporting the Africa Week theme of the African Diaspora will be welcomed. SERSAS welcomes formal papers as well as multi-media presentations and Work-In-Progress (WIP) presentations. Scholars at all career stages, disciplines and regions are encouraged to submit abstracts (less than 500 words, please) to:
SERSAS@hotmail.com
SERSAS takes great pride in providing time for in-depth discussion of papers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We encourage faculty to take advantage of our famed SERSAS collegiality by bringing advanced Undergraduates and new Graduate Students as a means of introducing them to the workings of an academic conference.
