International Development: Focus on South Africa addresses National Geographic's 2006 – 2007 thematic focus on Africa. The topic also lends itself to thinking about local-global connections, our responsibilities as world citizens, and how we might transfer lessons learned in the global context to our local communities through service learning. The program is designed in accordance with nationwide Continuing Education Units standards (CEU provider #716) and supports current accountability for results under NCLB and standards based teaching.
