LANGUAGE FOR SPECIFIC NEEDS CONFERENCE

20TH - 22ND SEPTEMBER, 2000

Chama cha Kiswahili cha Taifa(CHAKITA, Kenya) will hold a three day Conference on 20th - 22nd September, 2000 in Mombasa. The Theme of the Conference is LANGUAGE FOR SPECIFIC NEEDS. We shall deliberate on, develop and harmonize terminology in Kiswahili for specific purposes.

OBJECTIVES OF CONFERENCE

-Establish a rationale for the development and harmonization of

Kiswahili terminology;

-Deliberate and harmonize existing technical terminology;

-Develop new technical terminology in some crucial areas;

-Disseminate the terminology through a publication.
