Call for Papers: Canadian Association of African Studies,
05/08
The next Annual Conference of the Canadian Association of African Studies will
take place May 1 - 4, 2008, at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, in
co-sponsorship with the University of Calgary.
Conference theme: "Reflecting on Africa's Riches: resources, conflict and
Exploitation"
Proposal submission:
As always, we welcome paper submissions from individual members, reflecting
their personal research perspectives, irrespective of the conference theme. But
we strongly encourage you to think in terms of submitting full panels and/or
roundtables, as this will engender more cohesion in, and an overall better
quality for, the Programme. We will also be doing what we can to assist
graduate students (residential housing, billeting with local African/ist
graduate students, travel etc) - more information will be forthcoming soon.
Meanwhile, please encourage your graduate students to participate. Sessions
will be ninety minutes in length; therefore, panels should consist of four 15-
minute presentations, plus a chair and/or a discussant.
Proposal Submission Deadline: January 17, 2008
