THE 11TH AFRICAN, AFRICAN-AMERICAN, DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION,
RESEARCH & TRAINING INSTITUTE (AADERT) CONFERENCE
US FOREIGN POLICY, GLOBALIZATION, & "GLOCALIZATION": RACE, CLASS, GENDER?
AADERT located in Springfield, Massachusetts solicits submissions of
research papers on "US Foreign Policy, Globalization, "Glocalization":
Race, Class, Gender?" A better understanding of these issues in today's
rapidly changing international order/disorder is important to the primary
stakeholders ? the international community.
The conference organizers encourage the submission of papers relating to
all aspects of the post 9/11 international order/disorder. Issues of
interest include but are not limited to:
- Post 9/11 US Foreign Policy and its future
- The African-American community pre and post 9/11
- The prevailing world order/disorder and its impact on the Political
and
Economic development of Africa
- The changing framework in analyzing Race, Class and Gender
- The role of international institutions such as the WTO, IMF and
World Bank in
the current int. order/disorder
- Alternatives to the current US Foreign Policy
- The crises in the Middle East.
- The environment and economic development at all costs
- Post 9/11 international security/insecurity
- Information Technology and Democracy
- Making sense of concepts like "community", "terrorism',
"self-determination,"
"Fundamentalism," etc.
- Conflict management and resolution in the Post 9/11 int. order
- The problems of wealth and poverty
The conference will be held at the Brennan Center of Springfield College,
Springfield, Massachusetts on Saturday, June 19. AADERT and the
office of Multicultural Center of Springfield College will organize the
conference.
