Africa-Pop Chat
This session will allow workshop participants to chat with each other
using a program called PenMoo. These events take
place in synchronous or "real-time" dialogues which scroll on the screen
as they are in teractively created. The basic commands for exploring and
participating in PennMOO are easy to learn, but the possibilities for
education and scholarship are immense. Make sure you have "telnet" program
installed in your computer. After you log in to "Africa-Pop Chat" type
the user id and the password which we have assigned to you. To talk to
someone type: <">, e.g. to say hello to someone, type:
"hello.
To exit the chat session type:
/quit
Africa-Pop Listserv
This listserv: "africa-pop" is limited to the participants of this
workshop only .
When you reply to a message from the listserv, a copy of your reply is
sent to everyone on the list. If you want to send a private message, you
must copy the e-mail address from the header of the document and
e-mail the individual directly.
