Depending on local interference, the 0500-0600 UTC transmission to West Africa on 9695 might be the best to try for listeners in the US.
For the domestic shortwave service in South Africa the new sked for the same period is:
AFRIKAANS STEREO: 0300-0545 3320 100kW 0550-1530 6000 100kW 1535-2300 3320 100kW RADIO 2000 2300-0300 3320 100kW RADIO ORANJE 0555-1525 5965 100kW 1530-0550 3230 100kW
SENTECH used to be the signal distribution company of the SABC.
Since 1st January this year SENTECH is officially no longer part of the South African Broadcasting Corporation, and its aim is to be the common carrier for broadcasters in South Africa; SENTECH already has several new and prospective new clients on the shortwave side, and once the IBA issues licences to new local broadcasters, SENTECH will also have more clients on the FM side of the business.
Kathy Otto also mentioned that SENTECH now has it's own set of 8 QSL cards. Apparently this idea came from SENTECH's publicity people who decided it would be a good way of advertising SENTECH internationally.
So if you write to Kathy Otto, Shortwave Services, Private Bag X06, HONEYDEW, 2040, South Africa, you should get one of the SENTECH verifications. If you write to directly to Channel Africa, I suppose you'll get a Channel Africa QSL card.
