  • Africa in The British Library
      The British Library offers a rich resource for those interested in the history and cultures of Africa. Material of relevance can be found throughout the collections, whether it be in the form of printed books, newspapers, manuscripts, archives, music, sound recordings, prints, drawings, photographs or stamps.

      The Resources on Africa page of the U. of Florida library Web serves as a guide to the subject guides and other resources available on the Africana Collection site. Resources are categorized under the general headings of: Applied fields, Arts & humanities, Social sciences, and Sciences in Africa.

  • Electronic Journal of Africana Bibliography (U of Iowa)
      The Electronic Journal of Africana Bibliography EJAB is a refereed online journal of bibliographies on any aspect of Africa, its peoples, their homes, cities, towns, districts, states, countries, regions, including social, economic sustainable develop ment, creative literature, the arts, and the Diaspora. It includes guides, collections and ancillary materials to African archival resources in the United States.
  • Library of Congress (LOC)
      The African section is the focal point of the Library's reference and bibliographic activities on sub-Saharan Africa. Country studies include Ethiopia, Egypt and Somalia
  • Library of the Royal Tropical Institute
      Approximately one third of the book titles in the Library of the Royal Tropical Institute (the Netherlands) is concerned with Africa. The library has an on-line catalogue, provides desk-searches, abstract journals (cd-rom) on agriculture and thematic abstracts and searches on gender relations.
  • Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies (NU)
      Founded in 1954 to support the research and curricular programs of the Northwestern University Program of African Studies, the Herskovits Library is today one of the largest separate library for the study of Africa.
  • SOAS Library: Africa
      The Africa Section of the Library comprises some 50,000 volumes and covers the whole continent in a variety of European and African languages. Exceptions are works in Arabic on North Africa and on Egypt in any language (Islamic Near and Middle East Section), in Amharic on Ethiopia (Ancient Near East, Semitics and Judaica) and in Malagasy on Madagascar (S.E. Asia Section).
  • Subject Guide to African Studies (Loyd Mbabu)
      Modeled after its arrangement with the Government of Malaysia, the Ohio University Libraries has depository arrangement for the official documents of Botswana (1990), and Swaziland (1991). The Library is a member of the Center for Research Libraries ( CRL) and has access to the large collection of Africa-related materials in CRL.
